FAQ
Iris Photography – Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Contact lenses should be removed prior to your session. Contacts can reflect light, obscure fine iris detail, and affect color accuracy. Photographing the eye naturally allows us to capture the true texture and structure of your iris with maximum clarity.
If you wear prescription contacts, you may bring a case and solution for comfort.
Yes. I offer a range of professionally produced fine-art prints, including metal, acrylic, and other premium display options.
Finished artwork can be shipped directly to you. Shipping costs vary depending on the size of the artwork and destination.
Yes. Iris photography is non-invasive and safe.
We use professional studio flashes with low-output LED modeling lights. The same type of lighting used in portrait and commercial photography. Flash exposure lasts only a fraction of a second, and modeling lights are kept at comfortable levels to assist with focus and composition.
No lasers, scanners, or medical devices are used, and there is no physical contact with the eye. Each image is captured in brief intervals to ensure comfort throughout the session.
No. Iris photographs cannot be used for identification or biometric scanning.
Biometric iris recognition systems rely on specialized infrared lasers and depth-mapping technology. Standard photographic images do not capture the required data and cannot be used for scanning, identification, or security purposes.
Your privacy is extremely important to us.
- Iris images are handled confidentially
- Personal information is never shared or sold
- Images are used only for order fulfillment unless you provide permission otherwise
Before your session, you’ll have the opportunity to specify how (or if) your images may be used for portfolio or social media purposes.
We typically recommend iris photography for children ages 5 and up.
At this age, children can comfortably keep their eye open and follow simple instructions, which is important for both image quality and safety. Younger children may find it difficult to remain still, which can affect the experience and results.
Why do the colors in my iris photo look different than what I see in the mirror?
Most people never see the true color of their own eyes.
In everyday life, your eyes are usually shaded by your brow and influenced by surrounding light, clothing, and environment. These factors subtly alter how color appears.
Our process uses neutral, calibrated lighting and precision optics to reveal the natural color and structure of your iris without artificially altering hues. We do not add or change colors — we simply reveal what’s already there.
Not at all.
The session is quick, contact-free, and painless. Most clients are surprised by how easy and comfortable the experience feels.
The photography itself takes only a few minutes per eye.
Additional time may be spent reviewing options, answering questions, and discussing
artwork sizes and finishes.
One of the best parts – usually ZERO cost to you the Host employer. (However, many times the Host Employers add bonuses or help with initial housing as part of the intern’s total compensation)
After you complete Host Organization vetting, and make your selections from online interviews, most Interns arrive about 60 days after being accepted. (They must go to US Embassy, get tickets to USA and other items)
*The quicker you complete the app, and select your interviews, the quicker they can arrive!
Most internship programs are 12 months. (Sometimes 6 or 18 months, but most are for 1 year.) After the years over, most employers hire another batch of interns and start the process over again.
Interns must be trained and receive work-based learning. Think of them as young professionals that are wanting to learn in their field, and learn the American ways of doing business. It’s a teaching opportunity for them, and a great employee for you.
Usually their stipend would be similar to what a USA employee would make doing a similar task.
No – Interns must be doing training that matches there studies or work experience, and thus can not do un-skilled work. For example, they can not do simple cleaning, janitorial work and any unskilled labor. But that CAN do must task, that match their field of study.
The host application process is pretty quick, after that we will advertise your openings, and soon you will be interviewing candidates online!
Let us know your selections quickly, and we will process from there!
There is no set number, keep in mind most Hospitality businesses accept in groups of 4 so they can share housing when they arrive to USA.
For large companies maybe 20% of your needs is a good start, leaving a least 80% of your needs to Americans. We have some businesses with great programs that hire 50+ interns!
Also, Business and Marketing interns sometimes come as smaller groups, as little as just 1 single intern, if that’s all your business needs! You can always request more.
All J1 interns must come to USA through a Department of State approved visa sponsor, you can find these listed online to verify. The Visa Sponsor will help make sure your program is a success for both you and the international intern.
